I had considered how attach each chair together, and when I found these product, I came up with the idea of sticking with magnets. Also I researched furnitures are used magnets.
However when I talked with my tutor, the tutor said, " the idea of using magnets is not good. your chairs don't need to stick together. magnets is too storing to stick ,not good objects for wood, and to embed the magnets on the wood of my chair cause disfigurement. " I agreed this opinion, so, I gave up to use it.
MAG Furniture
Benjamin Vermeulen
A flat packed furniture set that takes only minutes to assembly without any tool. MAG stands for Magnetic Assisted Geometry, it's a furniture range made from high quality steel and wood. With the help of powerful magnets, this furniture snaps together perfectly, you can assembly and disassembly without losing its basic structural integrity. This also means replacing parts is easy since you just need to reattach it again with the same ease.
I quite like the structure that was made from flat parts only, it s easy to carry and good for putting in a storage.
Woods
I think furnitures especially chairs are required toughness because chair need to support people who is sitting. Therefore I decided to use hardwoods for my objects.
(Wood shop, near by East Finchley) I chose to buy beech square timbers, because ,these are hardwoods and very cheap.
Fabrics
At first I researched some kind of fabrics at the library of KingsCross and I could find strong and high quality fabrics, but these are too expensive to buy for me.
The fabric shop in Shepard's Bush area sells lots of fabric in reasonable price. (these fabrics only under £5/m) The quality is not so bad, I decided to buy them.
Color of fabrics
I thought color combination is tightened by including white or black.
I was fascinated by the color combinations, looks very bright and feels European.
